Let Them Go

Having trouble keeping friends and family around after taking a stand for Christ?
Take comfort in these words brethren and rest.

“Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.” – 1 John 2:18-19 KJV

“But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.” – Jude
1:17-19 KJV

Remember what happened to Jesus?

“But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.” – John 6:64-66 KJV

“But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.” – 1 Corinthians 7:15 KJV

What about believers in Church that leave? Remember God changes not.

“I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.” – 1 Corinthians 3:6-10 KJV

Trust in the Lord if brethren depart;
they may be your brothers, sisters, or mothers, but all are His children.

“So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem. And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the Lord. And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the Lord which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.

So Joshua let the people depart, every man unto his inheritance.” – Joshua 24:25-28 KJV

Keep in mind that Pharaoh was told repeatedly to let people go, but due to the hardness of his heart, he refused and brought great sorrow upon the land of Egypt. Feel not rejected when people leave you if they do not agree, bless them and curse not. He that is not with me is against me and he that is against me will scatter right? Our Lord Jesus suffered persecutions and rejection for the word of our father, why would your life be any different? The Lord is not a respecter of persons.

So whether you are rejected for the words sake as the world hears its own, or if people leave to be watered elsewhere, fear not God is in control always. Take solace in knowing you’ve planted righteous seeds and let them grow.

And if you feel called unto a different purpose, for Jesus says “my sheep hear my voice and the voice of another they will not follow” trust in the Lord to see you through as you forsake the old for the new. No man looking back is fit for the kingdom of heaven; the just living by faith.

“Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.” – Matthew 19:27-30 KJV

The Apostle Mark recounts in chapter 10 that Jesus said of the same that ye will receive a hundred fold, now in this time… with persecutions. Therefore, count it all a loss for Christ.

May the Lord keep you and lead you into all righteousness no matter what your current walk may be. Know that all things happen for the good for them that know and love the Lord, who are called according to His purpose. I pray that the Lord’s grace covers you in abundance in theses days and those that are to come, granting ye mercy and peace. God bless you and take care.
